My regatta experience. well. lets start from the eve of regatta. the 20th, friday. i had flu that night, and slept on the couch, where there was no air con to make me worse. so i started to night-dream, you know, visualize winning. then, it started turning into an awake nightmare, like i lost control of my boat, and it started to anyhow turn. then then. out of all 5 boats in the heats, we were DAM DAM far behind. then, from then on, i couldnt sleep. too scared. and this thought kept me awake for 45 mins. so i slept at 12. WHICH WAS DAM LATE for a morning race. then, woke up, felt like shyte. went to raffles place for my first regatta. heh first race, was Mens Tertiary Heats, if you make it in the heats, you go directly into the finals. cuz so few schools ma. but somehow, we messed up our race, i blame the drummer. thats all. he forgot to call for our CHARGE. you know? that final burst to the finishin line. THEN WE GOT THIRD LA. where got so lousy one. but but. Tertiary - we got 3rd  you have to know our background. LOL. see here, last time TP showed our face at any race, was the June race ( yeah thats what its called) and we got last in EVERY RACE that we went for, which wasnt alot, cuz we got kicked out so quickly. so at the regatta we, or at least I, didnt know where we stood, our standard, did we improve enough? or at all? so the first race, told me alot. either we messed up, or we really sucked. then we failed to secure a stand in the tertiary side, so our next race was the Mens Opens, where ANY TEAM in SINGAPORE can join. not only schools or clubs oh ok heres the races TP joined Tertiary ( all schools) Opens ( all teams) Mixed Opens ( guys+girls) all these were heats on the first day, if you made it, you come back on sunday. if you didnt qualify for ANYTHING, you didnt have a reason to come back la. so TP's strategy was ALWAYS to bank on tertiary, cuz last year we got 3rd for that category, and after our first race, we were out! what sia! it was kinda like all hope was lost la. we were prolly gonna lose mixed anyways. cuz we've never ever made it into Opens before. always kena kicked out. the now it was our Opens heats. we were quite angry about losing the tertiary spot, so i guess thats why we gave it everything. and  yay got 2nd sia! haha. whoosh, happy only. was sucha spirit lifter!! so just cause of this, we had a reason to return tml! haha. YES! ok next race would be mixed, and we sure didnt have hope for that, cuz beofre the race, we only had ONE practice row together. only ONE. haha and it was LIKE SHYTE. so the seniors didnt really wanna row, so they threw in the lousy people, like me, rick ( drummer) and others la. cuz, kinda no hope/ chance to win. haha. BUT THEN. WE BLOODY PROVED EM WRONG. got FIRST SIAL!  see how bloody close we won ITE by! 0.01 LEH! its ZEEROO. POINT. ZEEERO. ONE! not 2 not 3 not 4 BUT ONE! sia la. we practically crossed the line TOGETHER SIA. THEN YAY. we had to come back for TWO races tml!  NEXT DAY! haha. already alot of ups and downs. we raced, lost, then won, THEN GOT FIRST. like, wah roller coaster. ok first event the next day was probably, um. our Opens!! haha. its the SEMI FINALS. whee. okok so we did OKAY la i felt. 2nd place meant we made it into the Minor finals, o.3 seconds away from GRAND FINAL.  2nd race of the day, WAS MIXED! miexed SEMIS  got 2nd AGAIN. lol so once more, minor finals. but Rp's mixed team really too good. haha. we were no where near. so we came up, cool down, warm up again. dam scary. dam tiring. then for both our MINOR FINALS, we both BOTH 3RD. we were DAM DAM DAM SAD. cuz nothing to bring home. BUDDEN. there was a PLATE to bring back to school! hahah TWO PLATES TOO! heh veh veh happy sial heh LASTLY, i shall show you guys the opens GRAND FINALS result. winner was SIM. they really did great this year.  LOOKIT THE BLOODY TIMINGS. HAHA whicked! ANYWAYS. hope i didnt bore you guys. hahah and for that, i shall POST PHIOTOS. COXING  Wang Bochun! the guy who taught me all abt coxing. ( chun leng also la) FAVE PIC. year 2s and mummy! OPENS team!! OUR CROCS me-chun-shawn koh MIXED team!! see? now only ric looks weird. visualization. I led it. tee hehe  nah one pic of girls team.  TP  iM DAM HAPPY WITH SRR 2009 TP proved ourselves, we trained hard, we made it. i count myself blessed, i Coxed for Opens and got to row for Mixed, but get 3rd place for minors! thats like. more that what i imagined. im dam pleased and proud. we did well today Tertiary- came in 3rd. so kicked out straight away Mens Opens came in 2nd made it into Semis Mixed team Opens - came in 1st. didnt even get to see timing. made it into Semis haha tired. i dam scared for tml. really. like. SHIT SCARED. afraid we cant make it. afraid i mess up. today was good. i hope time will freeze and i can stop to enjoy iy. but i cant. tml's show down. self doubt is just. dunno. i feel it strongly. i MIGHT mess up. why? im usually like. never affected by nervousness or fear or anything like that. but but. LAn was great. didnt study enough though. um. SAT is coming. i scared. first time i went home alone on 45. =( not cool. MP3-hp-PSP. all batt died. i figured that was supposed to mean something. took bus with jiaying. talked alot. haha. shes fun. dinner with the. ahha i shd think of a name for them. LAN GANG. fun. TIRING. but fun. shd stop though. i cant forget my roots. my. my. past. my lessons. my fall. my decline. musnt happen again. im crazy over 1.40 GO LISTEN TO 1.40-1.44 Tuesday, November 17, 2009
